An excellent opportunity has arisen within a very reputable practice based in Sunderland, who are looking for an enthusiastic Vet to join their excellent 4 vets team.

Our client is a modern and progressive practice that has established an excellent customer service and pet care that is second to none. The practice is set in the location of Sunderland, Tyne and Wear and is ideally located within walking distance to the sea and the stunning beaches of the north east coastline yet with easy access from the A19 and A1 motorways and excellent local transport links.

This practice needs a team player who wants to progress their career within a busy practice based in Sunderland. The team is made up of friendly, outgoing, and supportive professionals, creating an excellent work environment.

Key Details:

  • Hours: Monday - Friday: Shifts between  8.00am – 7.00pm
  • Weekends: 1:4/5 weekends on a flexible rota, Sat: 8.30am – 4.00pm, Sun: Closed
  • Computer System: RX Works
  • Sole charge: On weekends
  • OOH: None, Provided by Vetsnow
  • Team: 4 Vet team and their nursing team consist of Certificate holders in ECC & Wound Management & a Graduate Diploma ensuring they have a team of nurses who are providing the high standards of care while supporting and working alongside the Vet team building on the future of the profession by coaching new graduates and student nurses. 

About Them:

They have a spacious, air-conditioned surgery which is RCVS accredited and purpose built to industry leading standards, with 2 theatres, dedicated imaging/dental suite, separate dog, cat & rabbit ward’s, 4 consulting rooms, separate cat waiting room, large treatment room area, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound & capnograph.

The practice are proud to be a Gold Standard Feline Friendly Practice (ISFM) and an Accredited Rabbit Friendly Practice (RAW) and recognised within the area for consistently providing the very best in Gold Standard small animal Health Care with caseloads including orthopaedic referrals and ultrasonography, supported by external surgeons.


The ideal candidate will be forward thinking, passionate and will have strong all-round veterinary skills, be fully competent in surgery and consultations at 1st opinion practice level and be comfortable with sole charge.  The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and relationship building skills with a driven and motivated attitude.


The practice offers a modern, well equipped, and purposed built environment that is built to industry standards and has state of the art equipment including digital X-ray, ultra sound with Doppler, dental machine, ECG, MRI/CT, and in-house laboratory facilities, 2/3 consulting rooms, a full operating theatre, isolation units and kennelling.


  • Salary - £30,000 -£45,000 DOE or Pro Rata if part time

Must haves:

  • RCVS registered and qualified
