A small animal practice in Hertfordshire is recruiting an experienced veterinary surgeon to join their 2-vet team. This role is ideal for a vet who can offer case continuity from consult through the surgery. You will be required to act as a positive proponent to the practice staff an encourage and train when required. Ideally you will have a special interest and have orthopaedic experience, but this is not essential. You will be able to show a track record of providing a high standard of veterinary care and show latest developments in medical and surgery care.

Key Details:

  • Type: Small Animal         
  • Hours: Full time Monday – Friday 9am – 7pm 45 Hours per week
  • Weekends: Yes 1:3 Saturdays 9am – 1pm 1:12 Sundays at Hospital in St Albans
  • OOH: None   
  • Sole charge: Some
  • Team: 2 Vet 2 RVN and reception team
  • Other: Accommodation can be provided if required.

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be an experienced forward-thinking veterinary surgeon
  • You will be minimum 2 years qualified
  • You will have good surgical experience and comfortable working autonomously
  • You will be happy to work a mixture of consulting and surgery
  • You will be confident in general medical surgical and dental cases
  • You will be expected to develop the surgical caseload for both soft tissue and orthopaedic whilst also developing the less invasive procedures – arthroscopy and laparoscopy.
  • You must be motivated and have a genuine passion for animal welfare and preventative medicine.
  • You would be happy to do 1:12 Sundays at the Hospital close by

  • Salary: £35,000 – £60,000 DOE
