We are recruiting for a permanent full-time Registered Veterinary Surgeon to join a dedicated and successful independent small animal practice based in Thornton, Lancashire on a full-time basis.

- Full-time: 4 days per week offering great work/life balance
- Hours: Monday-Friday 08:30am-19:00pm and Saturday 08:30am-12:00pm
- Weekends: 1:5 on-call rota
- Sole Charge: Some
- Branch Work: Occasionally between 2 main sites

This independent small animal practice is based in Thornton, Lancashire. They have a great customer base and focus on providing high-quality patient and client care in the community. The team offer a fantastic work/life balance based on a 4-day working week with a 1:5 weekend on-call rota.
The practice offers a friendly and supportive working environment where regular team discussions take place to ensure that the highest level of practice and service is delivered to both patients and clients. They provide standard 15-minute consultations to enable interesting and thorough workups and the opportunity to really communicate and build relationships with their patients and clients.
There is a fantastic Registered Veterinary Nurse team who have a wide range of experience and skills and support the practices Vets by providing exceptional patient care in preventative medicine through regular nurse clinics.
The team create personal development plans for each RVS which are reviewed quarterly to ensure appropriate on-going training and support is provided.
The practice has 2 main sites, one brand new site another that is in the process of being renovated to keep improving standards, however the team aim to move staff as little as possible to maintain continuity of care for patients and clients.
The practice is keen to appoint the right Registered Veterinary Surgeon for this role and therefore will consider new graduates or experienced candidates who can provide exceptional patient and client care. You must have great communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
A personalised training programme will be provided for new graduates to support the development of clinical and surgical skills. Alternatively, if you are an experienced and skilled RVS, the team can support further development through certificates in particular areas of interest.
This is a full-time permanent position with a 4-day working week and 1:5 on-call weekend rota.
