Are you looking to work in a busy hospital environment where you will have a very varied role utilising your excellent nursing skills? This established 8 vet, 13 nurse team are looking for a full- time, permanent veterinary nurse to join their friendly growing team, which they have a fantastic staff retention rate . The practice is fully computerised and exceptionally well equipped across 4 floors with consulting rooms, operating theatre, hospital wards, full laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy and an intensive care unit.
- As it’s a hospital, the hours would vary
- 8am – 8pm (Hospital shift meaning critical care)
- 8am – 6pm
- 10am – 8pm
- 4pm – 11pm
- Weekend rota is currently 1:5 but this changes from time to time. It will never be more than 1 in 3
- You would get the following Monday and Tuesday off if you work a weekend, but again sometimes this can be another two days. Always consecutive.
- There is an emergency incident rota so for two weeks a year you would be on call just in case something went wrong in the hospital. It’s rarely used. And if called in, they get the next day off instead.
They have 8 vets and at full capacity, 13 nurses
It is a fast paced environment here and you will see an array of different cases, they do have routine ops here as well as critical cases, no two days will be the same. It can get very busy here but there is also down time days.
They are looking for a driven and hardworking nurse with the passion to continue their education is always a bonus, they are always updating equipment and procedures so they need to be willing to adapt that. They love people that want to grow and do CPD etc..
CPD allowance: £500 + 2 days for nurses but there are more discretionary funds available if they are needed.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
RCVS registered and qualified
Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom.
Excellent communication skills
Minimum 2 year’s post grad experience
