Our client in Birstall, Leeds are seeking an exceptional Registered Veterinary nurse to complement their mighty day team. They are looking for quality applicants and will offer this position to an assertive, enthusiastic person with an outstanding grasp of the ‘hands-on’ clinical work.
You must have clinical experience assisting in a high-volume veterinary practice, as all our staff are cross-trained, and you will often be responsible for everything from the patient being admitted to being discharged. You’ll be confident at placing catheters, administering and monitoring anesthesia, as you’ll be supervised but not handheld or micromanaged. You’ll also be dealing with clients through consultations giving advice and liaising regarding their pets care. You’ll answer phone calls positively, in line with the practice philosophy.
- Hours: The practice is open 24 hours but you will be working shifts between 7:30am and 8:30pm
- Weekends: 1 in 4
- Computer System: RX Works
- OOH – Possible
This is a busy practice that does not have extra staff available to cover for you if you're absent, so excellent and on-time attendance is a requirement. They cover out of hours for 11 other practices within the group. As a result, see a varied and interesting case load. Regularly tackling orthopedics and complex soft tissue surgeries as well as hospitalization for those in need. They have fully digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscope as well as blood pressure, ECG and Capnography.
Previous clinical experience is absolutely essential, as you will need to hit the ground running. Familiarization training and induction will be provided, but we’re not looking to hire someone who needs extensive technical training.
