Are you looking for a locum or permanent ECC Night Veterinary Surgeon position?
We are recruiting for an independent emergency service based in West Sussex, who are seeking a dynamic, ambitious ECC vet looking to excel within their experienced team.
They are based within the newly refurbished flagship hospital (the only centre in West Sussex holding combined ECC and hospital RCVS Accredited Status) of family-owned Group in West Sussex, nestled at the foot of the South Downs National Park.
By day they provide routine vet care as well as complex treatments by Advanced Practitioners and visiting Specialists in state of the art facilities. By night they have recently established a brand new service dedicated to emergency and critical care. The service currently covers 4 member practices (a total of 15 FTE vets) along with local non subscribing clients.
They are able to provide continuous high-dependency care for the sickest patients in one place. Continuity of care and exceptional communication with clients, colleagues and member practices is what sets them apart. Their team of ECC vets and nurses are passionate and committed, with advanced certificate training and decades of combined experience.
- Start: ASAP (Flexible start date)
- End: Ongoing
- Shifts: 12 shifts in 28 days
- Hours: 7pm - 8am - 13 hour shifts with scheduled breaks
They recognise the importance of excellent work-life balance, especially for vets working anti-social hours, and have designed a sustainable rota to allow this: 13 hour shifts with scheduled breaks, 12 shifts in 28 days. The shift number in a 28 day period can be negotiated subject to the candidate’s requirements.
They are looking for candidates that need to be passionate about providing a high level of care for their patients and a premium service for their clients. In addition, you need to be able to efficiently investigate cases to a high standard and have a medical mind-set, as well as being competent with emergency surgeries sole-charge. Good communication and personal skills are essential and you will be encouraged to maintain continuity with clients and able to see cases through to a conclusion.
Although experience in emergency care is preferred this is not essential and we would consider recent graduate with a strong passion for this discipline.
- Salary £35,000-55,000 subject to experience and certificate/advanced practitioner status.
- Equivalent of 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays.
- £1500 per year CPD budget to enable you to fulfil relevant training.
- Support for a certificate available if required, and training agreements considered.
- RCVS, VDS and BVA subscriptions.
- Director and management support always available.
Overall, this is an exciting opportunity for an ECC vet to grow within excellent surroundings, supported by a family-style team in a thriving independent practice situated in a fantastic part of the UK.
- RCVS registered and qualified
- Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
