Our client is looking for a Head Vet to join their team in Derby. The ideal candidate would be confident and competent in all soft tissue surgeries and basic orthopaedics and will be happy to mentor and guide less experienced team members. We offer a great opportunity for vets who have a surgical bias.
The practice is very busy, often with 20+ ops per day. It is spacious and well equipped, including digital x-ray, consult rooms, separate kennels, cattery, prep and theatre. The teams consist of 3 Vets, 2 RVNs, 4 Animal Nursing Assistants and 5 Receptionists. There is also a dedicated Head of Practice.
- Hours Monday - Friday: 40hrs
- Weekends: 1 in 3 weekend rotas
- Computer System: RX Works
- Sole charge: Some
- OOH: None

The ideal candidate will be forward thinking, will have strong all-round veterinary skills, have general surgical skills and consultations at 1st opinion practice level. They offer a bright, spacious, air-conditioned surgery that is built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including digital X-ray, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory facilities, 2/3 consulting rooms, a full operating theatre, isolation units and kennelling.
- Salary - £40,000 - £50,000 DOE
