We are recruiting for an experienced Registered Veterinary Surgeon to further enhance services at a small animal practice based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire on a permanent full time contract.

  • Full Time
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Weekends: Regular weekends tbc
  • Sole Charge: TBC

  • Computer System: RX Works 

About the Practice:

The practice is conveniently located near to major road networks and public transport links, and only a few miles from the Peak District.

They are a very busy 24 hour Tier 3 Small Animal Hospital and their experienced and enthusiastic team of 12 Vets (3 of which are certificate holders), 17 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse and a dedicated out of hours team. 

The purpose built surgery has state of the art equipment including digital x-ray, ultrasound, flexible and rigid endoscopy and orthopaedics. Current expansion plans include two new high end theatres for advanced surgery, as well as an on-site CT scanner in the next few months. They have a very varied and interesting caseload with lots of opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their skills within the practice

The Person:

The successful candidate will ideally be an experienced Vet with strong communication and interpersonal skills. This would suit someone currently or looking to work towards a medicine certificate. Must have:

  • RCVS registered and qualified
  • Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
  • 1+ years’ post-graduate experience in the United Kingdom
