Are you looking for a new challenge and want to be a part of an amazing team? We are recruiting a permanent veterinary surgeon to join a charity hospital in Margate Kent. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week offering an excellent work / life balance. There is no on call involved or ooh! There may be the occasional requirement to work at one of the sister sites from time to time.  The hospital is in a beautiful location very close to the beach and only 1.5 hours away from London! The busy hospital is thriving and sees a huge variety of cases meaning that the veterinary surgeon continues to develop their skill set and knowledge daily. They pride themselves on staff development so CPD is actively encouraged and supported and there are plenty of opportunities available within the organisation.


Key Details:

•             40 Hour working week

•             Veterinary Surgeon's typically work incremental shifts from 8am-4.30pm to 10am-6.30pm and vet nurses from 8am-4.30pm to 9.30am to 6pm.

•             No OOH, as this is fully outsourced - Vets Now do night cover on site.

•             The caseload is varied and would make a great opportunity for someone completing a certificate or looking to further develop their skills. 

•             They have the work / life balance sorted with a genuine 37.5 hour working week, no evening OOH (latest finish 6pm

•             Clinical staff typically work 1 in 6 Saturday mornings from 9-12 and receive time off in lieu the following week

•             Pets and people at the heart of what they do UK wide


About the Role:

•             They are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon (VS) for the delivery of an efficient, professional and caring service to all the hospitals clients and to provide a high standard of customer service and clinical care whilst also promoting pet wellbeing and delivering preventive services.

•             The hospital building is well equipped with plenty of consulting space allowing them to meet the demands of this busy small practice.

•             The caseload is very varied on a day to day basis

•             They are a friendly welcoming team that are very supportive.

•             They aim to promote a healthy life for all their pets by preventing, educating and treating sick and injured animals with passion and compassion.

•             Responsible for managing cases cost-effectively, encouraging financial contributions from clients


Essential requirements:

  • Experience of working in a small animal Veterinary practice 
  • Experience of delivering high standards of clinical care & customer service.  
  • Wellbeing and delivering pet wellbeing initiatives. 
  • Genuine interest in pet education

•             Salary - £35,289 - £50,165 per annum

  • Hours 40 Hours per week full time permanent
